Active Ingredients: 1% Acetic acid, sodium hexametaphosphate and cinnamon-clove flavor beads.

Sodium hexametaphosphate (SHMP) chelates, or sequesters, minerals and inhibits crystal formation. Plaque contains calcium that can harden into calculus. SHMP forms complexes with the calcium by ion-pairing, in the saliva and on the tooth surface, when the cationic (positive) charge of calcium is attracted to the negative charges of oxygen on the phosphate anions. The complexes of SHMP and calcium leave the mouth in the dog’s saliva, thus preventing the formation of calculus. By preventing calculus, we can help control and prevent periodontal disease
