The Zoo Med Dr. Turtle Slow-Release Calcium Block Turtle Supplement can be used to help prevent issues as well as treat some soft shell issues. It can safely be used with hatchling turtles.

Is this product safe if my turtle were to consume it?

This supplement is safe for turtles to eat.

How long does it last? I'm considering this for my aquatic snails.

The block begins to slowly dissolve once placed inside the water. The duration depends on the water temperature of the tank.

If I use these with yellow bellied sliders, do I still need to use the calcium powder when feeding them?

The slow-release calcium block can be used with yellow belly sliders, it will help add calcium to the water which they will consume when drinking. However, Zoo Med does not recommend using a calcium powder when feeding them as it can just foul the water. Make sure they are being fed a balanced pelleted diet with added vitamins and minerals.

Can I use water conditioner with it for my turtle?

This supplement may be used with a water conditioner.

Is it safe if your turtle were to eat it?

The slow release calcium block can be eaten by a turtle. Just make sure they are not eating the entire thing in one sitting as that can be a problem.
