Product Description
Revolt Topical Solution (Red/Maroon Box) is a monthly prescription spot-on for dogs and puppies aged 6 weeks or older weighing 20.1–40 lbs. Each dose contains 1.0 mL (120 mg) selamectin and gives 6-in-1 protection against heartworm, fleas, ear mites, sarcoptic mange, and American dog ticks.
Benefits
- Prevents Heartworm Disease: Selamectin prevents Dirofilaria immitis larval development into adult heartworms when administered within one month of exposure to infective larvae.
- Kills Fleas and Prevents Eggs: Kills adult Ctenocephalides felis fleas and prevents viable flea eggs from hatching for one full month, breaking the flea life cycle.
- Treats Ear Mites: Treats and controls Otodectes cynotis ear mite infestations in medium dogs; a second monthly dose may be required in some dogs.
- Treats Sarcoptic Mange: Treats and controls Sarcoptes scabiei infestations in medium dogs; a second monthly dose may be required in some dogs.
- Controls American Dog Ticks: Controls Dermacentor variabilis American dog tick infestations in medium dogs with each monthly application.
- Waterfast After 2 Hours: Bathing or shampooing 2 or more hours after application does not reduce effectiveness against fleas or heartworm prevention.
- Safe in Avermectin-Sensitive Breeds: Testing in avermectin-sensitive Collies showed that even at 1 to 5 times the recommended dose, the only effect noted was salivation.
- Equivalent to Revolution for Dogs: Contains the same selamectin as Revolution for Dogs, providing equivalent protection at a more accessible price point.

Directions for Use
- Prescription Required: In the US, this medicine must be prescribed or directed by a licensed veterinarian.
- Minimum Dose: Apply topically once monthly, providing a minimum of 2.7 mg selamectin per pound (6 mg/kg) of body weight.
- Open the Tube Correctly: Hold the tube upright and twist the cap to break the seal; the cap remains on the tube during application.
- Apply at Base of Neck: Part the fur at the base of the neck in front of the shoulders until you can see the skin, then apply to the skin.
- Squeeze Firmly 3 to 4 Times: Squeeze 3 to 4 times in one area until the tube is empty, and keep it compressed at the end to stop liquid from being drawn back.
- Do Not Massage or Wet Coat: Never massage the product into the skin and never apply when the dog's coat is wet; allow to dry naturally.
- Ear Mite and Mange Dosing: For ear mites and sarcoptic mange, a single topical dose is administered; a second monthly dose may be required in some dogs.
- Apply Once Monthly Year-Round: Administer every 30 days year-round for continuous heartworm prevention and flea and tick control.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: What does Revolt Topical Solution (Red/Maroon Box) treat and prevent in medium dogs?
Ans: Revolt Red/Maroon Box is a monthly 6-in-1 spot-on for dogs and puppies 6 weeks or older (20.1–40 lbs) that protects against heartworm, fleas, flea eggs, ear mites, sarcoptic mange, and American dog ticks.
Q2: How does the Red/Maroon Box differ from the Brown Box?
Ans: The Red/Maroon Box contains 120 mg of selamectin in a 1.0 mL tube for medium dogs. The Brown Box contains 60 mg in a 0.5 mL tube for smaller dogs. Both provide identical 6-in-1 parasite protection at the same minimum dose of 2.7 mg/lb. Always use the tube matching your dog's current body weight.
Q3: How does selamectin in Revolt work to protect medium dogs?
Ans: Selamectin is taken up through the skin into circulation, where it interferes with parasite nerve signals, preventing heartworm larvae and removing ear mites, sarcoptic mange mites, and American dog ticks. It also reaches the skin to kill fleas and prevent flea eggs from hatching for a full month.
Q4: Is Revolt Red/Maroon Box safe for breeding, pregnant, or lactating dogs?
Ans: Selamectin has been assessed across 100+ dog breeds, including breeding males, pregnant and nursing females, and avermectin-sensitive Collies, with no adverse reactions seen when used topically at the recommended dose. Always consult your veterinarian before use in breeding animals.
Q5: Can Revolt be used on medium dogs that have already tested positive for heartworm?
Ans: Yes. Selamectin was administered at 3 times the recommended dose to heartworm-infected dogs with no adverse effects observed. Dogs with adult heartworms can safely receive Revolt monthly to prevent further infections. Revolt does not eliminate existing adult heartworms; consult your veterinarian regarding adulticide treatment for current infections.
