    Size

To get the most accurate size harness for your pet, measure the girth of their chest, around the widest part of your dog's torso right behind the front legs, with a cloth tape measure. Pull the cloth tape snug, but not tight. If you don't have a cloth tape measure, you can use a piece of string and measure it with a rigid ruler afterwards. Make sure there's enough room for about two fingers between the harness and your pet's chest for comfort.

    Size Chest Girth
    Small 10.24 to 14.17 inches
    Medium 13.39 to 22.05 inches
    Large 18.9 to 25.98 inches

    FAQs

    1. What size Halti harness is right for my dog ?
To determine which size is best for your furry friend, please refer to the fitting guide on this product page.

    2. How to I do a acclimatise my dog to wearing a Halti No Pull harness?
It's important to remember that for your dog having a new training aid may feel unusual for your dog. We encourage you to help your dog acclimatise to the harness by using positive associations methods. Build up slowly to give your dog time to adjust. You can find more information on using the Halti No Pull Harness in our 'how-to' video on this product page.

    3. How can I optimise the success of using a Halti no-pull product?
It's important with all training to be patient and consistent. As soon as your dog starts to pull, come to a halt. Only move forward again when the lead is slack. Reward success early on, by regularly treating your dog when they not pulling on the lead as this will encourage nice walking. For an extra helping hand we recommend using the Halti Training Lead with your Halti Headcollar or Harness so that you have more control when walking your dog.

    4. How do I secure the back connection strap when my dog is not walking on the lead?
When your dog is walking off the lead, you can simply remove the harness or tie the excess length up in a secure loop. If the dog is regularly running through undergrowth, then we would recommend removing the harness altogether. On top of this, for models manufactured in 2021 onwards, we have implemented a design change where the back connection strap can be secured with a purpose-made loop of fabric.

    5. How long can I keep the headcollar or harness on my dog?
We do not recommend leaving any type of body worn training aid on your dog for long periods of time and dogs should never be left unattended wearing products like headcollars, harnesses, and muzzles. This is from a safety and welfare perspective as well as there is a high possibility your dog may try to remove and chew the product.

    6. From what age can my dog use a Halti No Pull Harness?
We do not recommend using the Halti Headcollar, Optifit Headcollar, Front Control Harness or Halti No Pull Harness on dogs below the age of 9 months old. For dogs younger than this we recommend the Halti Walking Harness combined with a Halti Training Lead or Halti Walking Double Ended Lead. Halti Training Leads can be used for dogs of any age.
