Ursodiol (ursodeoxycholic acid) is a bile acid that occurs naturally in human bile and the biles of other mammals. It is commonly used as adjunctive therapy for managing gallstones and chronic liver disease, especially in cases involving bile toxicity. This medication is often prescribed for long-term use.
