Doxycycline Hyclate Tablets, 20 mg

DOXIROBE Gel (doxycycline hyclate) is indicated for treating and controlling periodontal disease in dogs. This 2-syringe system, consisting of a polymer delivery system (N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone and poly (DL-lactide)) in Syringe A and the active ingredient (doxycycline) in Syringe B, is mixed before application. Once applied, the gel can decrease periodontal pocket depth, increase reattachment and decrease gingival inflammation. The flowable solution contains 8.5% doxycycline activity and slowly releases doxycycline from the polymer, providing effective local antimicrobial treatment. This biodegradable and non-irritating formulation is applied subgingivally to the affected teeth.

• One treatment can reduce periodontal pocket depth, increase reattachment, and reduce gingival inflammation.

• Special syringe with cannula permits injection of doxycycline directly into infected periodontal pockets, providing local antimicrobial action at the infection site for several weeks.

• Provides better results than antibiotics and scaling alone.

Possible Side Effects

Do not use DOXIROBE Gel in dogs under 1 year of age, because the use of tetracycline during tooth development has been associated with permanent discoloring of teeth.

Storage Instructions

Store at controlled room temperature 15° to 30°C (59° to 86°F).

Reconstituted product not used on the day of mixing should be stored in the resealable foil pouch at room temperature (15-25°C or 59-77°F) and used within 3 days of reconstitution. Ten additional exchanges between syringes should be performed if reconstituted product has been stored.
