SMZ-Med 454 (sodium sulfamethazine) Soluble Powder

This product is intended for controlling and treating specific diseases caused by certain susceptible pathogenic organisms that can be combatted with sulfamethazine. It can treat bacterial pneumonia and bovine respiratory disease complex (shipping fever complex) caused by Pasteurella spp., colibacillosis (bacterial scours) caused by Escherichia coli, necrotic pododermatitis (foot rot) caused by Fusobacterium necrophorum, calf diphtheria caused by Fusobacterium necrophorum, acute metritis caused by Streptococcus spp. in cattle, acute mastitis caused by Streptococcus spp. in beef cattle, or porcine colibacillosis (bacterial scours) and bacterial pneumonia caused by Pastereurella spp. in swine. Additionally, it can help control infectious coryza caused by Haemophilus gallinarum, coccidiosis caused by Eimeria tenella and Eimeria

Possible Side Effects

Possible side effects in dogs may include a reduction in appetite, vomiting, and diarrhea. More severe potential side effects may include dry eye, inflammation of the liver with yellowing of the skin and eyes, fever, anemia, hives, joint swelling, facial swelling, increased thirst and urination, and gall bladder issues.
