MilbeGuard for Dogs, 2-10 lb, is a powerful broad-spectrum parasiticide designed to keep your canine companions safe from a variety of parasitic threats. This once-a-month, flavored tablet is specially formulated to prevent heartworm disease, control adult hookworm infections, and remove and control adult roundworms and whipworms in dogs and puppies aged four weeks and older, weighing at least two pounds. It also provides essential protection for cats and kittens (excluding whipworm) aged six weeks and older, weighing at least 1.5 pounds.

How It Works

Dosage and Administration

MilbeGuard Flavored Tablets are to be given orally, once a month, at the recommended dosage based on your pet’s weight.

For Dogs:

• 2-10 lbs: One tablet (2.3 mg Milbemycin Oxime)
• 11-25 lbs: One tablet (5.75 mg Milbemycin Oxime)
• 26-50 lbs: One tablet (11.5 mg Milbemycin Oxime)
• 51-100 lbs: One tablet (23.0 mg Milbemycin Oxime)
• Over 100 lbs: Administer the appropriate combination of tablets.

Frequency

Administer MilbeGuard every 30 days to maintain continuous protection. Consistent monthly dosing is crucial to prevent heartworm and other parasitic infections.

Consistency

Ensure that the tablets are given on the same date each month. If a dose is missed, administer the tablet immediately and resume the monthly schedule.

Side Effects of Milbeguard Tablets

While MilbeGuard is generally safe for most pets, some may experience side effects such as vomiting, lethargy, or diarrhea. In rare cases, dogs with a high number of circulating microfilariae may exhibit mild, transient hypersensitivity reactions, including labored breathing, vomiting, salivation, and lethargy.

Precautions

• Veterinary Consultation: Before starting MilbeGuard, ensure your pet is tested for existing heartworm infections. Do not use in puppies under four weeks of age or weighing less than two pounds.
• For Cats: Safety in heartworm-positive cats and in breeding, pregnant, or lactating queens has not been established.
