Lantus SoloStar Syringe 

Lantus is a brand of insulin used to treat diabetes mellitus. An insulin glargine is a type of insulin that is structurally identical to, but not, human produced insulin Lantus is designed to be longer lasting than other insulins, lasting up to 24 hours (however, in dogs it typically does not last more than 16 hours). Like all other forms of insulin, Lantus is taken subcutaneously (an injection), and can be a critical part of treating your dog or cat’s diabetes. Insulin is a hormone that works by lowering levels of glucose (sugar) in the blood.

Recommended Dosage

Use as directed by your veterinarian. Lantus Solostar Pen must not be given with an insulin pump, or mixed with other insulins. Do not inject this medicine into a vein or a muscle.

Storage Instructions

Refrigerate unopened Lantus Insulin 3mL. Opened Lantus Insulin 3mL must be stored at room temperature only. Lantus should not be stored in the freezer and should not be allowed to freeze. Discard Lantus if it has been frozen. Protect Lantus from direct heat and light. The shelf life of Lantus is 28 days after first use.
