Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What infections does Albon treat in dogs and cats?

Q2: What is the right dosage amount of Albon Tablets for dogs and cats?

Ans: Start with 25mg per pound of the dog’s weight and follow with 12.5 mg per pound once daily at 24-hour intervals as per the manufacturer's label. Treatment typically lasts 3 to 5 days and should continue until the patient is asymptomatic for 48 hours.

Q3: How does sulfadimethoxine in Albon work?

Ans: Sulfadimethoxine is a bacteriostatic sulfonamide that competitively blocks bacterial synthesis of folic acid from para-aminobenzoic acid. It interferes with folic acid production and prevents bacterial growth, while mammalian cells can continue utilizing available folic acid.
