Amoxicillin and Clavulanate Potassium Oral Suspension

 This product is a wide-ranging antibiotic for treating bacterial infections in both dogs and cats. It has the same effectiveness as Clavamox for treating periodontal, skin, and soft tissue infections in dogs, and urinary tract and skin infections in cats. Amoxicillin trihydrate is a man-made antibiotic that kills many types of bacteria, including both gram-positive and gram-negative, aerobic and anaerobic microorganisms. It is not resistant to β-lactamases, which are enzymes produced by certain bacteria. However, the addition of clavulanic acid, an enzyme inhibitor, boosts the antibiotic's effectiveness, making it an excellent treatment option.
