Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: How quickly does Advantage II start working on my dog?

Ans: Advantage II begins killing adult fleas within 12 hours of application. It also targets flea larvae, flea eggs, and chewing lice, preventing re-infestation while keeping your dog comfortable and protected for a full 30 days.

Q2: How often should I apply Advantage II for effective flea control?

Ans: For optimal flea prevention, Advantage II should be applied once every 30 days. This monthly topical treatment provides ongoing protection against adult fleas, larvae, eggs, and chewing lice, eliminating the need for oral medications or prescription interventions.

Q3: Can I bathe my dog after applying Advantage II?

Ans: Yes, but you should wait 24 hours after the application. The formula is waterproof, so normal bathing or light rain won’t reduce its effectiveness once fully absorbed by the skin.

Q4: Is Advantage II safe for puppies and small dogs?

Ans: Advantage II is safe for puppies at least seven weeks old and weighing 3–10 pounds. It should not be used on younger or underweight puppies, and application instructions must be followed carefully for safety.

Q5: Are there any side effects I should watch for after treatment?

Ans: Some dogs may experience mild skin irritation, redness, scratching, or digestive upset, such as vomiting or diarrhea. If severe reactions or lethargy occur, discontinue use and contact a veterinarian immediately.

Q6: Can Advantage II be used on other pets besides dogs?

Ans: No, this product is specifically formulated for dogs. Applying it to cats or other household pets can be risky and may cause serious health issues. Always follow species-specific guidelines carefully.
