2-Month Flea, Tick, Heartworm and Worm Protection for Small Cats

Product Description

Bravecto Plus Topical Solution (Green Box) is an FDA-approved, prescription-only spot-on for cats and kittens 6 months or older weighing 2.6 to 6.2 lbs. Each tube combines fluralaner and moxidectin to deliver 5-in-1 parasite protection in a single dose every 8 weeks. A single application takes care of fleas, ticks, heartworm prevention, and both roundworm and hookworm infections at the same time. This is the smallest dose in the Bravecto Plus cat range, made specifically for small and petite cats.

Benefits

  • 2-Month Protection per Dose: One application keeps your small cat protected for 8 weeks, cutting the pressure of monthly dosing in half.
  • Kills Fleas and Prevents Infestations: Treats and prevents Ctenocephalides felis flea infestations for 2 months, stopping the flea life cycle effectively.
  • Tick Control: Covers black-legged ticks (Ixodes scapularis), American dog ticks (Dermacentor variabilis), Asian longhorned ticks, and Gulf Coast ticks for a full 2 months.
  • Heartworm Prevention: Moxidectin stops Dirofilaria immitis from causing heartworm disease when dosed consistently every 2 months.
  • Treats Roundworms and Hookworms: Clears Toxocara cati roundworms and Ancylostoma tubaeforme hookworms, including both larval and adult stages.
  • No-Spill Applicator: The Twist'n'Use applicator makes home application clean and simple without any mess or wasted product.
  • Reduces Dosing Frequency: An 8-week protection window makes it easier to stay on top of parasite prevention compared to products that need monthly dosing.

How to Use

Directions for Use

  • Prescription Required: Federal law limits this product to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian only.
  • Apply Every 2 Months: Give one topical dose every 2 months, delivering a minimum of 18.2 mg/lb fluralaner and 0.9 mg/lb moxidectin per application.
  • Wear Gloves: Gloves should always be worn during application; once done, give your hands and any skin that touched the product a thorough wash with soap and water.
  • Open the Tube Correctly: Hold the tube upright with the cap tip pointing up and rotate it one full turn to break the seal; the cap remains on throughout dosing.
  • Position Your Cat: Your cat should be standing or lying flat with their back level before you begin applying the solution.
  • Apply at the Base of the Skull: Part the fur at the base of the skull, press the tube tip directly onto the exposed skin, and squeeze gently to release the solution.
  • Avoid Run-Off: Do not squeeze too much into one spot; if any runs off, apply the remainder just behind the first application point along the backline.
  • Switching Products: Start Bravecto Plus no later than 30 days after your cat's last dose of the previous heartworm preventive.
  • Open Pouch Just Before Use: Only take the tube out of its sealed foil pouch right at the time of application to guard against moisture.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What does Bravecto Plus Topical Solution (Green Box) treat and prevent in small cats?

Q2: How does Bravecto Plus differ from regular Bravecto for small cats?

Ans: Regular Bravecto contains only fluralaner and protects against fleas and ticks for 12 weeks. Bravecto Plus adds moxidectin, extending coverage to heartworm prevention and intestinal worm treatment every 2 months. Bravecto Plus also covers more tick species, including Gulf Coast ticks.

Q3: How does the Green Box differ from the Blue Box?

Ans: The Green Box holds 112.5 mg of fluralaner and 5.6 mg of moxidectin, the smallest dose in the Bravecto Plus cat range. The Blue Box for medium cats contains 250 mg of fluralaner and 12.5 mg of moxidectin. Both deliver the same 5-in-1 protection; always use the tube that matches your cat's current weight.

Q4: Can Bravecto Plus be used in heartworm-positive small cats?

Ans: Bravecto Plus can be used with caution in heartworm-positive cats, but it does not treat existing adult heartworm infections. Always test your cat first and speak to your veterinarian before starting this product in any cat that has already tested positive for heartworm disease.

Q5: Is Bravecto Plus safe for pregnant or breeding small cats?

Ans: Safety in breeding, pregnant, or lactating cats has not been established. If your small cat is pregnant, nursing, or intended for breeding, always speak to your veterinarian before starting any new parasite treatment including fluralaner and moxidectin-based products.
