Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What does DOUXO S3 PYO Mousse help manage in dogs?

Ans: This leave-on mousse is designed for dogs with bacterial or fungal skin infections that need antiseptic cleansing. It supports topical routines by cleansing while helping support skin comfort, and it helps detangle the coat for a soft, shiny finish.

Q2: What are the active ingredients and why do they matter?

Ans: The mousse contains chlorhexidine digluconate 3% for antiseptic cleansing and Ophytrium 0.5% for skin ecosystem support. Ophytrium is selected to support the skin barrier and help soothe irritated skin during topical care routines.

Q3: What is the recommended usage frequency on the label?

Ans: Manufacturer directions indicate using the mousse 3 times a week for 3 weeks. Your veterinarian may adjust the frequency and duration depending on the infection type, the areas involved, and your dog’s response to topical management.

Q4: How do I calculate the correct amount to apply?

Ans: For dogs 13 lb or less, apply 1 pump per 2 lb of body weight. For dogs over 13 lb, apply 1 pump per 4 lb. For long or thick coats, the directions allow doubling the dosage for better skin contact.

Q5: What are the step-by-step application instructions?

Ans: Apply to a brushed, dry coat. Massage onto the problem area until the mousse reaches the skin, then repeat as needed over the body while avoiding eyes and mouth. Do not rinse. Let air dry, then brush the coat.

Q6: Should I rinse my dog after applying the mousse?

Ans: No. This is a leave-on mousse designed to air dry on the coat. After it dries, brush the hair coat. The leave-on format supports longer contact time and can be used as part of a veterinarian-guided skin infection routine.

Q7: Is this product appropriate for cats?

Ans: Product cautions state it is for external use on dogs only. If your cat has a skin concern that might require antiseptic cleansing, consult your veterinarian for guidance on an appropriate cat-safe product and a suitable care plan.

Q8: What should I do if my dog shows irritation after use?

Ans: Discontinue use if skin irritation occurs or increases and consult your veterinarian. Avoid eye contact during application. If the mousse gets into the eyes, rinse thoroughly and contact your veterinarian for advice on next steps.
