Nobivac Lepto 4 Vaccine is a 4-way leptospirosis vaccine for the vaccination of dogs against L. canicola, L. grippotyphosa, L. icterohaemorrhagiae, and L. pomona. The bacterial infection is a life-threatening disease that leads to kidney and liver failure. In addition, it is also transmissible to humans. A veterinarian-recommended vaccine that aids in the prevention of infection, though mainly used to lessen the severity of this terrible disease. This is important for dogs that have been exposed to water, wildlife, or urban rodent populations.

Which dogs should get the vaccination of Nobivac Lepto 4?

Dogs regularly coming in contact with any form of water, wildlife, farm animals or urban rodent population have a higher risk for this disease and should be immunized.

At what age should my dog have this vaccine?

It can be given to puppies as early as 8-9 weeks of age, then booster 2-4 weeks later, and annually thereafter for protection.

Dosage & Administration:

Mix well before use. Inject one dose (1mL) subcutaneously. The initial dose may be given at 8 weeks of age or older. Repeat dose 2 to 4 weeks later. Two doses are required for primary immunization.

Historically, annual revaccination has been recommended for this product. The need for this booster has not been established. Contact your veterinarian or manufacturer for more information on revaccination frequency.

Precautions:

  • Store at 2°-8°C (35°-46°F).
  • Do not freeze.
  • Use new, non-chemically sterilized needles and syringes.
  • Do not mix with other products.
  • In case of human exposure, contact a physician.

Warnings:

  • Contains gentamicin and amphotericin B as preservatives.
  • Vaccinate only healthy, non-parasitized dogs.
  • Do not vaccinate pregnant bitches.
  • The use of a biological product may produce anaphylaxis and/or other inflammatory immune-mediated hypersensitivity reactions. Antidote: may all be indicated depending on the nature and severity of the reaction.
  • The age at which maternal antibody for canine parvovirus no longer interferes with the development of active immunity varies according to the bitch’s titer and the number of colostral antibodies absorbed by the puppy.
