Why is the Prestige Tetanus Vaccine important for my horse?
Tetanus is a life-threatening condition in horses, often contracted through wounds or punctures where bacteria thrive. The Prestige Tetanus Vaccine provides strong immunity, helping to prevent the neurotoxin from causing paralysis, muscle spasms, and death. It's a critical part of any horse’s vaccination routine.
How often do I have to vaccinate my horse against Prestige Tetanus?
Horses need a primary dose and then a booster in 3-4 weeks, followed by annual boosters for continued protection. Foals typically start vaccination at 3-4 months of age if the mare is vaccinated. Ask a veterinarian for an ideal schedule depending on your horse's risk of exposure.
Directions for Use:
For primary vaccination aseptically administer 1 mL intramuscularly to horses, cattle, and swine or 0.5 mL to sheep and repeat with a single dose in 3 - 4 weeks. Historically, annual revaccination with this product has been recommended. The need for this booster has not been established. For more information on revaccination frequency consult your veterinarian.
