Recombitek C8 for Dogs - Protection Against 8 Diseases
Recombitek C8 (rDAPP-LCGIP) Vaccine is a full 8-way canine vaccine offering broad-spectrum protection from highly contagious and potentially fatal diseases in dogs. This vaccination, recommended by veterinarians, gives dogs protection against canine distemper (CDV), adenovirus type 1 & 2 (CAV-1, CAV-2), parainfluenza (CPiV), parvovirus (CPV), and four strains of leptospirosis: Leptospira canicola, grippotyphosa, icterohaemorrhagiae, and Pomona. With advanced recombinant technology, Recombitek C8 has been engineered to provide long-lasting, robust immunity with minimized risk for adverse reactions.
Benefits:

Why is Recombitek C8 important for dogs?
It provides broad-spectrum protection against important viral and bacterial diseases such as canine distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, and leptospirosis.
At what age should my dog be vaccinated?
Puppies: The first vaccine is given at 6-8 weeks of age. Booster shots are given every 3-4 weeks until the puppy is 16-20 weeks old.
Adult dogs require either annual or triennial boosters depending on the risk factors.
Dosage & Administration:
Aseptically rehydrate the lyophilized vaccine with the accompanying liquid diluent, and agitate. Administer 1 mL (1 dose) subcutaneously into healthy dogs. For primary vaccination, revaccinate with a second 1 mL dose 3 to 4 weeks later. The presence of maternal antibodies is known to interfere with the development of active immunity in dogs and additional boosters will be required in most young animals. For advice on revaccination frequency, consult your veterinarian.
Precautions:
Store at 2-8°C (35-46°F). Do not freeze. Do not use chemicals to sterilize syringes and needles. Do not mix with other products, except as specified on the label. Use entire contents immediately after reconstitution. Contains gentamicin as a preservative. In rare instances, administration of vaccines may cause lethargy, fever, and inflammatory or hypersensitivity reactions. Transient lethargy, as well as pain and swelling at the site of injection, may occur following the use of this product. Treatment may include antihistamines, anti-inflammatories, and/or epinephrine, as a veterinarian directs. This product has not been tested in pregnant animals. In case of human exposure, contact a physician. Inactivate unused contents before disposal. For use in animals only.

FAQ
Against which diseases does the Recombitek C8 vaccine protect?
The rDAPP-LCGIP recombinant Subunit vaccine protects against the eight canine diseases of:
- Distemper (D)
- Adenovirus Type 1 & 2 (A)
- Parainfluenza (P)
- Parvovirus (P)
- Leptospira canicola (L)
- Leptospira grippotyphosa (G)
- Leptospira icterohaemorrhagiae (I)
- Leptospira pomona (P)
For which animals is the vaccine intended?
The vaccine is indicated for puppies and adult dogs exposed to these diseases, especially in social, outdoor, and leptospirosis-endemic environments.
How is this vaccine administered?
It is given as a subcutaneous (under the skin) injection by a veterinarian. Puppies usually receive a series of injections starting at 6–8 weeks of age, with boosters every 3–4 weeks until at least 16 weeks of age. Adult dogs should receive annual boosters as needed.
Are There Any Side Effects?
Commonly seen mild side effects include local soreness around the injection site, low-level fever, or loss of appetite for a few days. Serious side effects are uncommon but do require immediate veterinary attention.
Why is the leptospirosis component important?
Leptospirosis is a zoonotic disease; therefore, there is a chance of transmission from dogs to people. This vaccine covers four-way lepto-LCGIP-reducing kidney and liver damage from leptospira bacteria, thus creating less risk to people.
How often does my dog need this vaccine?
After the initial series in puppies, a booster is given at one year and then re-vaccinated annually to maintain protection.
