- Minimum Dose: Each tube delivers at least 2.7 mg of selamectin per pound (6 mg/kg); use the full tube once every month.
- Open the Tube Correctly: Hold the tube upright with the expiration date visible at the bottom, then bend the tip backward until it snaps off.

- Apply Once Monthly: Administer every month for continuous heartworm prevention, flea control, and parasite protection throughout the year.
- Wash Hands After Use: Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after application as selamectin may be irritating to human skin and eyes.
- Test for Heartworm Before Starting: All dogs should be tested for existing heartworm disease before starting a heartworm prevention protocol with Senergy.
- Switching From Another Preventive: Give the first Senergy dose within one month of the last dose of the former heartworm preventive product.
- Missed Dose: Apply the missed dose immediately when remembered, resume the standard monthly schedule, and do not double up.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: What does Senergy Topical (Red Box) treat and prevent in medium dogs?
Ans: Senergy Red Box is a once-monthly topical solution that prevents heartworm disease, kills adult fleas, prevents flea egg hatching for one month, controls American dog ticks, treats ear mites, and treats sarcoptic mange. This is suitable for dogs and puppies aged 6 weeks or more that fall within the 20.1 to 40 lb range.
Q2: How does the Red Box differ from the Brown Box?
Ans: The Red Box contains 120 mg of selamectin in a 1 mL tube for medium dogs. The Brown Box contains 60 mg in a 0.5 mL tube for smaller dogs. Both provide identical parasite coverage at the same minimum dose of 2.7 mg/lb selamectin. Always use the tube that best matches your dog's current body weight.
Q3: How does selamectin in Senergy work to protect medium dogs?
Ans: Selamectin is absorbed through the skin into the bloodstream after topical application. It prevents heartworm larvae from developing into adults, kills adult fleas, inhibits flea egg hatching, and disrupts the nervous systems of ear mites, American dog ticks, and sarcoptic mange mites, delivering broad-spectrum protection for one full month.
Q4: Can Senergy Red Box be used on breeding or pregnant medium dogs?
Ans: Yes. Selamectin has been tested safe in pregnant and lactating females across over 100 dog breeds with no adverse effects observed. Safe use in breeding males has also been evaluated with no adverse effects reported. Do not start parasite prevention in breeding animals without first consulting a veterinarian.
Q5: Can Senergy treat an active heartworm infection in medium dogs?
Ans: Selamectin does not kill adult heartworms (Dirofilaria immitis) and should not be used to remove microfilariae. Dogs must be tested for heartworm before starting Senergy, and any infection must be treated before using it monthly.
