About Stratford

Stratford Animal Care got its start in 2011, taking its name from the street address of the MWI Animal Health office it was built in partnership with in Meridian, Idaho. From day one the brand focused on giving veterinary practices high-quality dermatology, dental, and nutritional products that were practical to use and easy for pet owners to stick with at home. Swedencare acquired the brand in 2020, bringing it into a global pet health group while keeping its manufacturing rooted in the United States. Today every Stratford product is made in FDA-compliant, NASC-approved US facilities, and the range is distributed across the US veterinary market through an exclusive agreement with MWI Animal Health.

Stratford Product Range

Medicated Dermatology — Keto-C with CeraGuard: Keto-C Shampoo brings together 2% chlorhexidine gluconate and 1% ketoconazole for broad-spectrum control of bacterial and fungal skin infections in dogs, cats, and horses. What sets the CeraGuard version apart is a proprietary lipid complex of ceramides, phytosphingosine, cholesterol, and avenanthramides that actively rebuilds the skin's natural barrier rather than just clearing the infection on the surface. Available as shampoo, spray, mousse, and wipes to cover every stage of a treatment routine.

Joint and Mobility Support — CadaFlex: CadaFlex soft chews are built around a blend of glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM, boswellia, turmeric, and omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA. A proprietary addition of eggshell membrane, green-lipped mussel powder, mushroom powder, and Bacillus Coagulans rounds out the formula with digestive and immune support alongside joint benefits. Available for small/medium and large/giant breeds in a flavoured soft chew format dogs readily accept.

Dental Care — ProDen DentalCare: ProDen DentalCare works through Ascophyllum nodosum, an organic kelp that tackles plaque and tartar from the inside out after being ingested rather than scrubbing tooth surfaces mechanically. It carries the Veterinary Oral Health Council Seal of Acceptance for both plaque and tartar control, a standard very few dental products earn. Available as a daily powder, soft chews, and dental bones.

Calming and Behaviour — Relaximal: Relaximal uses a combination of direct and indirect calming pathways to help pets handle stressful situations without becoming sedated or dependent. It contains no pheromones, which makes it species-neutral and practical for households with both dogs and cats. Available as a plug-in diffuser covering up to 650 square feet, and as a spray, mousse, and wipes for situations away from home.

Ear Care: Keto-C Tris Flush with CeraGuard combines TrizEDTA and ketoconazole for antibacterial and antifungal ear and skin flushing, with the same ceramide complex found in the broader Keto-C range supporting barrier recovery during treatment. EZ-Wipe K-Tris Finger Wipes offer a practical daily maintenance format for keeping ears clean between flare-ups.

Why Vets Trust Stratford?

  • NASC Quality Seal Certified: Every Stratford product is manufactured in NASC-approved US facilities, having cleared the independent audit that the Council uses to verify a brand's commitment to quality at the production level.
  • VOHC Accepted Dental Formula: ProDen DentalCare holds the Veterinary Oral Health Council Seal of Acceptance for both plaque and tartar control. This is an independently verified clinical standard that requires product trials conducted under VOHC protocols, and it is one that very few dental supplements manage to achieve.
  • CeraGuard Technology Backed by Dermatology Research: Dogs with atopic dermatitis are known to have reduced ceramide levels in the skin, which weakens the barrier and allows allergens and pathogens to penetrate more easily. CeraGuard was developed specifically to address this, and the International Committee of Allergic Diseases of Animals recommends ceramide-based products for restoring the skin barrier in allergic patients.
  • US Manufacturing with FDA-Compliant Facilities: All Stratford products are produced in the United States under rigorous quality controls and regulatory compliance standards, with continuous oversight built into the production process.
  • Part of Swedencare's Global Pet Health Network: As a Swedencare subsidiary, Stratford operates within a group that reaches approximately 65 countries, supported by world-class research infrastructure and commercial distribution infrastructure.

Frequently Asked Questions About Stratford

Q1: What is Stratford and what products does it offer?

Ans: Stratford Animal Care is a US-based veterinary brand that has been serving the animal health industry since 2011. Its range covers medicated skin care, joint supplements, dental care, calming solutions, and ear care for dogs and cats, with everything produced in FDA-compliant, NASC-approved US facilities and sold primarily through licensed veterinary channels.

Q2: What is Keto-C Shampoo and what does it treat?

Ans: Keto-C is built around two well-established active ingredients, chlorhexidine gluconate and ketoconazole, chosen specifically because they work on different types of pathogens and cover each other's gaps. The result is a medicated shampoo that handles both bacterial and fungal skin problems in dogs, cats, and horses in a single wash. The CeraGuard version adds barrier-rebuilding technology on top, which matters most for pets where a weakened skin surface is what keeps the infection coming back.

Q3: What is CeraGuard and why does it matter for skin health?

Ans: Research shows that dogs with atopic dermatitis have lower ceramide levels in their skin, weakening the barrier that normally keeps irritants and pathogens out. CeraGuard was formulated to replicate the molecular structure of that barrier, using ceramides, phytosphingosine, cholesterol, and avenanthramides to restore moisture retention and reduce the inflammatory response that comes with a damaged skin surface.

Q4: What is CadaFlex and which dogs can use it?

Ans: CadaFlex is a joint supplement for dogs available in two size variants, one for breeds under 59 lbs and one for breeds 60 lbs and above. It combines glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM, boswellia, turmeric, and omega-3 fatty acids with a proprietary blend that also covers digestive and immune health, making it a more complete daily supplement than most single-focus joint products on the market.

Q5: How does ProDen DentalCare work without brushing?

Ans: ProDen DentalCare contains a specific strain of Ascophyllum nodosum kelp that gets absorbed through the digestive system and then works on plaque and tartar from within rather than through contact with tooth surfaces. For pets that refuse a toothbrush, or where brushing compliance simply is not realistic, it is one of the few dental products with independent clinical validation to back up that approach.

Q6: What is Relaximal and how does it help stressed pets?

Ans: Relaximal works on the nervous system through two complementary pathways rather than relying on a single mechanism, which gives it more consistent results across different types of stress triggers. It contains no pheromones, so it does not need to be species-specific, and it does not sedate the animal, meaning the pet stays alert and responsive while the edge of the stress response is taken off.

Q7: Are Stratford products safe for both dogs and cats?

Ans: The Keto-C skin care range and ProDen DentalCare are both formulated for dogs and cats. CadaFlex is labelled for dogs only. Relaximal works across species. For any medicated product, it is worth checking the individual label and confirming with your vet before starting, particularly for cats with known sensitivities or existing health conditions.

Q8: Do Stratford products require a prescription?

Ans: Most Stratford products are available without a prescription, including the full Keto-C range, CadaFlex, ProDen DentalCare, and Relaximal. The brand distributes primarily through licensed veterinary channels but HardyPaw, as a US-based licensed pet pharmacy, provides authorised access to the full range without a clinic visit being required.

Q9: Where can I buy Stratford products in the US and internationally?

Ans: The full Stratford range, including Keto-C Shampoo and Spray, CadaFlex joint chews, ProDen DentalCare, Relaximal calming products, and ear care solutions, is available through HardyPaw. HardyPaw is a US-based licensed pet pharmacy and pet essentials brand that ships domestically across the United States and internationally to pet parents worldwide.
