  • Open the Tube: Remove the inner tray from the carton, grasp one tube firmly, push the cap down, and twist counter-clockwise to remove it; reverse the cap, place it back on, and twist to break the seal before removing.
  • Ensure Dog is Dry: The dog must be completely dry before application and must remain dry for 24 hours after treatment.
  • Multi-Spot Application: Apply the entire contents of the tube evenly to 3–4 spots along the dog's back, from the shoulder blades to the base of the tail.
  • Apply at Skin Level: At each spot, part the hair until the skin is visible, place the tube tip directly on the skin, and squeeze gently to apply without runoff.
  • Repeat Monthly: Reapply once every month; in severe infestations, retreatment once a week is permitted, not to exceed 4 weeks, then return to a monthly schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What pests does this topical treatment protect extra-large dogs against?

Ans: This once-a-month formula provides five-way protection, repelling and killing fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, biting flies, and lice with a single application. It targets all life stages of fleas and ticks, making it one of the broadest-coverage topical treatments available for extra-large dogs.

Q2: How quickly does this treatment kill fleas after application on extra-large dogs?

Ans: It kills existing fleas within 12 hours of application. Reinfesting fleas are eliminated within 2 hours, with protection against further flea infestation lasting at least four weeks. Monthly reapplication is required for continuous flea and tick control.

Q3: How is this treatment applied to extra-large dogs?

Ans: The entire tube contents are applied evenly across 3–4 spots from the shoulder blades to the base of the tail. At each spot, hair is parted to expose the skin before applying. This multi-spot method ensures full, even coverage across the entire body surface.

Q4: Why is this treatment dangerous for cats?

Ans: The formula contains permethrin, a synthetic pyrethroid that is highly toxic to cats and can be fatal if applied to them or ingested. Treated dogs must be kept away from cats for 24 hours after application, and this product must never be applied to cats under any circumstances.

Q5: Which tick species does this treatment protect extra-large dogs against?

Ans: It repels and kills Deer Ticks that may transmit Lyme disease, American Dog Ticks that may transmit Rocky Mountain spotted fever, Brown Dog Ticks that may transmit Ehrlichiosis, and Lone Star Ticks that may also transmit Ehrlichiosis for up to four weeks per dose.

Q6: Is this treatment waterproof after application?

Ans: Yes, the formula is fully waterproof and remains effective after bathing, swimming, rain, and exposure to sunlight. However, the dog must stay completely dry for 24 hours immediately after application to allow the product to properly absorb and bond to the skin.

Q7: Can this treatment also repel mosquitoes from extra-large dogs?

Ans: Yes, permethrin repels and kills mosquitoes for up to four weeks per treatment, preventing blood feeding on treated dogs. This added protection is especially valuable for large, active dogs that spend significant time outdoors in high-mosquito environments.

Q8: What should I do if an extra-large dog shows a reaction after application?

Ans: If side effects such as skin irritation, lethargy, or agitation appear, consult a veterinarian immediately. For emergencies, call 1-833-571-1532, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Have the product container on hand when calling for the most accurate guidance.

Q9: Can pre-existing flea pupae in the environment still hatch after treatment?

Ans: Yes, pre-existing flea pupae may continue to emerge for six weeks or longer, depending on climatic conditions. Year-round monthly treatment is the most effective strategy to prevent reinfestation from environmental flea stages, especially for large dogs with outdoor access.
