How to Use

Directions for Use

  • Remove the Tube: Take one applicator tube from the package and hold it upright, pointed away from your face and the dog's face.
  • Open the Tube: Pull off the cap, reverse it, and place it back on top of the tube. Press the cap down firmly to break the seal, then remove it carefully.
  • Ensure Dog is Dry: The dog must be completely dry at the time of application and must remain dry for 48 hours after treatment.
  • Apply Along the Back: Position the tube tip between the shoulder blades; use the tip to part the hair down to skin level and squeeze out a stripe along the dog's back toward the base of the tail.
  • Apply Monthly: Reapply once every month for continuous flea, tick, and chewing lice control and prevention.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: How often should this topical flea and tick treatment be applied to large dogs?

Ans: A monthly application is required for continuous protection. Applying once every 4 weeks kills fleas, ticks, and chewing lice while breaking the flea life cycle, ensuring your large dog stays reliably protected year-round.

Q2: Which tick species does this treatment protect against?

Ans: The formula kills all stages of Brown Dog Ticks, American Dog Ticks, Lone Star Ticks, and Deer Ticks. Deer Ticks may transmit Lyme disease, making monthly treatment especially important for dogs that spend time outdoors or in wooded areas.

Q3: Can I bathe my dog after applying this flea and tick treatment?

Ans: The dog must remain dry for 48 hours after application. After that period, the formula is waterproof and remains effective following bathing, swimming, or rain exposure, providing uninterrupted protection for active large dogs.

Q4: What active ingredients are in this treatment, and how do they work?

Ans: The formula contains fipronil and (S)-methoprene. Fipronil kills adult fleas, ticks, and chewing lice through contact. (S)-Methoprene is an insect growth regulator that stops flea eggs and larvae from developing into biting adults.

Q5: Is this flea treatment safe to use on pregnant or nursing dogs?

Ans: The product label states it can be used on breeding, pregnant, and lactating dogs. However, it is always advisable to consult a veterinarian before applying any topical treatment to pregnant or nursing dogs to confirm suitability.

Q6: Can this treatment be used on dogs with skin conditions?

Ans: If your dog is exhibiting signs of or is being treated for skin dermatitis, consult a veterinarian before applying any topical flea and tick treatment. A vet can determine whether the product is appropriate based on your dog's specific skin condition.

Q7: What should I do if my dog shows signs of sensitivity after application?

Ans: If sensitivity signs appear, bathe the dog with mild soap and rinse with large amounts of water. If signs continue, consult a veterinarian immediately. For emergencies, call 1-833-571-1532 with the product container available for reference.

Q8: Should I treat my large dog year-round even in colder climates?

Ans: Yes, year-round monthly treatment is recommended. Fleas and ticks can remain present or lay dormant in cold climates and become active when conditions change. Consistent monthly application offers the most reliable prevention against infestations.

Q9: Can this treatment be used alongside other flea or tick products?

Ans: Do not treat your dog with more than one pesticide product at a time, as overdosing can result in serious illness. Consult a veterinarian before combining any flea or tick treatments, especially for dogs that are medicated or have known organ dysfunction.

Q10: How quickly does this flea and tick treatment start working after application?

Ans: Fipronil-based topical treatments such as this one begin to take effect within 12 hours of application, as confirmed by VCA Animal Hospitals. A monthly application is recommended to maintain full protection against fleas, ticks, and chewing lice.
