Monthly Flea and Tick Defense for Medium Dogs

Product Description

PetPrevea Plus is a veterinarian-trusted, once-a-month topical solution for medium dogs weighing 23–44 lbs that goes beyond just killing fleas; it dismantles the entire flea life cycle. Powered by fipronil and (S)-methoprene, it eliminates adult fleas, flea eggs, flea larvae, ticks at every life stage, and chewing lice in a single application. Waterproof, fragrance-free, and built for year-round use, it keeps dogs 8 weeks and older consistently protected.

  • Broad Tick Coverage: Kills all stages of Brown Dog Ticks, American Dog Ticks, Lone Star Ticks, and Deer Ticks that may transmit Lyme disease.
  • Chewing Lice Protection: Eliminates chewing lice infestations for one full month per single application.
  • Waterproof & Long-Lasting: Remains effective after bathing and swimming, delivering uninterrupted monthly protection for active dogs.
  • Fragrance-Free Formula: Contains no added scents, making it a gentle choice for dogs with fragrance sensitivities.

  • Ensure Dog is Dry: The dog must be completely dry before application and must remain dry for 48 hours after treatment.
  • Apply Along the Back: Place the tube tip between the shoulder blades, part the hair to reach skin level, and squeeze out a stripe running from the shoulder blades to the base of the tail.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: How often should this flea and tick treatment be applied to medium dogs?

Ans: Monthly application is required for continuous protection. Applying once every 4 weeks kills fleas, ticks, and chewing lice, breaks the flea life cycle, and keeps your medium-sized dog reliably protected year-round.

Q2: Which tick species does this topical treatment protect against?

Ans: The formula kills all life stages of Brown Dog Ticks, American Dog Ticks, Lone Star Ticks, and Deer Ticks. Deer Ticks are known to transmit Lyme disease, making consistent monthly treatment especially important for dogs with outdoor exposure.

Q3: Is this treatment waterproof after application?

Ans: Yes, the formula is waterproof and remains fully effective after bathing and swimming. However, the dog must stay completely dry for 48 hours immediately after application to allow the product to properly absorb and bond to the skin.

Q4: What do fipronil and (S)-methoprene each do in this formula?

Ans: Fipronil kills adult fleas, ticks, and chewing lice on contact by disrupting their nervous systems. (S)-methoprene is an insect growth regulator that prevents flea eggs and larvae from developing into biting adults, stopping future infestations at the source.

Q5: Can this treatment be used on puppies?

Ans: It is approved for use on dogs and puppies that are at least 8 weeks old and weigh a minimum of 23 lbs. Do not apply to younger puppies or those below the minimum weight, as doing so may cause adverse reactions or harm.

Q6: Can this flea and tick treatment be used on cats or other pets?

Ans: No, this product is formulated exclusively for dogs and must never be applied to cats, kittens, rabbits, or any other animals. Cats must also be kept away from treated dogs for 24 hours after application until the product has fully dried.

Q7: What should I do if my dog shows a reaction after application?

Ans: If signs of sensitivity appear, bathe the dog with mild soap and rinse thoroughly with large amounts of water. If signs persist, consult a veterinarian immediately. For emergencies, call 1-833-571-1532, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Q8: How does this treatment work on the flea life cycle?

Ans: Fipronil kills adult fleas on contact, while (S)-methoprene prevents flea eggs and larvae from reaching the biting adult stage. Used monthly, this dual-action formula breaks the entire flea life cycle and prevents reinfestation on treated dogs.

Q9: Should my dog be treated year-round, even in the winter months?

Ans: Yes, year-round monthly treatment is recommended. Fleas and ticks can remain present or lay dormant in cold climates and become active when conditions change. Consistent monthly application provides the most reliable year-round prevention against infestations.

Q10: Can this product be used alongside other medications or flea treatments?

Ans: Do not use alongside other pesticide products, as overdosing can cause serious illness. Consult a veterinarian before use on dogs receiving any medication, or those that are aged, debilitated, or have known health conditions requiring veterinary oversight.
